1) What year was The Times founded and when did it start using the Times name?

Founded in 1785 as the Daily Universal Register and started using the Times name in 1788

2) What content did John Walter suggest the paper would offer in the first edition?

It should include politics, foreign affairs, matters of trade, legal trials, advertisements and “amusements”.

For it to be a fair argument and support the both the Labour and the Conservatives. Walter reserved the right of the newspaper “to censure or applaud either political party”

Owned by News UK (CEO is Rupert Murdoch). Editorial integrity is protected though fair arguments and that they don't side to one party

The Times (London) is published by Times Media Limited, which is a subsidiary of News UK (formerly News International). News UK is, in turn, wholly owned by News Corp, the media conglomerate founded by Rupert Murdoch and now chaired by his son, Lachlan Murdoch.
